Toughened Glass

This glass has been processed and sent through a heating and cooling cycle that changes the structure of the glass.  The result is glass that is mechanically and Thermally about 5 times stronger than annealed glass and in addition if broken will shatter into small “safe” pieces.

Most glass types can be toughened in the thickness range of 4mm - 25mm.

It should be noted that edge treatment, hole and notch positioning need careful consideration when glass is to be toughened.
